August-September 2006

Invited by Werk Ltd, Havana based artist Carlos Garaicoa and members of his team will be based in Liverpool. During August and September 2006, this period of time provides opportunities for conversation, exchange of ideas and access to information and material in different ways than their daily practice in Havana allows. In order to establish communication and engagement with communities and existing net works locally and regionally, a programmed schedule of workshop activities, discussion forums and open studio visits has been set up. Based on the team's various abilities; architecture, model making, photography, installation, animation, art history and on this occasion music, the project presents opportunities to share knowledge and cultural aspects of their activities with a wide group of participants and audiences. During two months, Garaicoa Studio in Liverpool will be a hub of inclusive activities in a creative and engaging atmosphere.
The project aims to support this mid-career artist in developing his interdisciplinary teamwork. The aim is also to make this process as transparent and open as possible for all audiences.
